PLC is a non-audition
community women's chorus open to all women who
love to laugh and sing in harmony with other women. Although no
previous musical experience or skill is required, we strive for musical
excellence, because doing something well is more fun, and rehearsals
provide opportunities to learn and practice sight-reading, vocal
technique, and other musical skills in a supportive setting.
We sing a wide variety of styles, from many sources, and sometimes in
other languages, with general themes including peace, freedom, social
justice, and ecology, and with a special emphasis on music by, for, and
about women. We also sing a love song occasionally, and some
songs are just for fun!
We are focusing this season on expanding our membership, both in
numbers and in diversity: young women, old women, women of color,
differently-abled women, Bi women, trans women, straight allies -- come
sing with us!
