The Portland Lesbian Choir is a proud member of the Gay and Lesbian Association of Choruses. GALA Choruses leads the North American LGBTQA choral movement and cultivates the artistic development of 20,000 singers from more than 190 choruses around the world. More information can be found here.
The Portland Lesbian Choir was proud to join with 6,000 choral organizations to sign the #BlackVoicesMatter: A Pledge of Anti-Racism in Choral Practice in the summer of 2020. OF/BY/FOR ALL methods help organizations connect with their local communities in effective, authentic ways. The more an organization is representative OF its community, the more people feel seen and heard. The more programming is created BY the community, the more people feel ownership. The more programming is FOR the community, the more everyone wants to participate.
