SPONSORSHIP FAQS
Who is PLC?
We are a small but mighty team led by a dedicated volunteer board, two staff and many talented volunteers who contribute their unique professional skills to our mission. We welcome people of all gender identities, sexual orientations, and musical backgrounds, and we envision an equity-centered community that celebrates resiliency and belonging while radically changing lives through music.
What does PLC do?
Each year we perform four concerts and participate in outreach events to support aligned organizations, increase visibility, and bring our message to those who don’t have access to LQBTQIA2S+ performances. We cultivate an inclusive and uplifting community for our singers, volunteers, members, and audience. We amplify and uplift the voices of our queer community by creating a safe, welcoming space in our rehearsals and concerts. We spotlight the talents of marginalized communities through the intentional selection of songs written and composed by trans and BIPOC artists. We celebrate our differences, resilience, and joy!
Why does PLC need support?
Unfortunately, the current economic climate and significant federal funding cuts threaten non-profits like ours that openly value diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB). But we will not be silenced. We will continue spreading joy through music and providing a safe space for all to be their authentic selves, whether with us on stage or in the audience. We will not waver in our solidarity with historically marginalized populations like LGBTQIA2S+, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color. We are stronger together, and we invite you to join our joyful resistance as we create power and connection through song.
Why should I become a community partner/sponsor of PLC?
We stand in a pivotal time in history. In the future looking back, we will know we are on the right side of it. We see the consumer reactions and financial implications of a company’s stance on DEI…Take, for example, a certain PNW-based wholesale chain that also serves hot dogs and pizza versus the mammoth retail chain with a circular red logo as examples of consumers responding to their DEI statements and the resulting major profit gains and losses, respectively. Being a valued 2025-2026 Season Sponsor of PLC helps demonstrate your company’s commitment to being on the right side of history.
What will the 40th Anniversary look like?
First, you can find us at the beginning of the 2025 Portland PRIDE Parade, just after the Dykes on Bikes, on July 20th. Then, we have a fantastic season that you won’t want to miss!
We invite all people to join us at our three productions:
There’s No Place Like PLC (November 15, 2025)
The Place Where You Belong (January 31 and February 1, 2026)
Queer Joy Is Our Resistance (June 20 and 21, 2026)
What’s in it for my company?
Let’s talk numbers! Our digital marketing reaches an audience over 7,400+, and our in-person audience impressions for this season will be 2,500+. (We have sold out every concert for the last two years!) Simply put, this is the best time to become one of our beloved community partners!
Don’t just take it from us; hear our audience members reflect on their experience during our 2024-2025 season:
“Enjoying a PLC concert is like coming home to a community that embraces diversity, acceptance, and inclusion. One is transported and uplifted by music of hope, challenge, belonging, joy, and love. For some PLC's music changes and saves lives.”
“PLC has become the place I find the most joy and community I have experienced in this life. Showcasing that joy and togetherness in the concerts invites others to feel that sense of belonging and see what a queer family looks like.”
